Long-Distance Steel Range (1200-yard) Greenwood Gun Club Members, At our Annual Meeting on February 12, 2026, we shared that a Long‑Distance Steel Range was being planned. It is now under development at Cowboy Town and is strictly off-limits to anyone not involved in the development process. We anticipate the range will be available late this year - hopefully by Fall, subject to weather and continued progress. Like the Cowboy Range, the Long-Distance Steel Range will operate by schedule only. It will be open exclusively during designated match times and supervised practice sessions. There will be no unscheduled, walk‑up, or individual use outside of those times. Individual qualification will be required. Members interested in using the Long-Distance Steel Range will be required to first demonstrate their knowledge of ballistics and long-distance shooting proficiency on the existing 600-yard range. This must be successfully completed before attempting qualification on the new Long-Distance Steel range. Additional details, including qualification procedures, scheduling, and operational guidelines, will be communicated as development continues. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to safe range operations.

Open Carry is legal in Texas however Greenwood Gun Club does not allow open carry on premise. Open carry is not compatible with range safety and club rules. In order to continue to ensure safety on our ranges, there will be no open carry on Greenwood Gun Club property.
You are still permitted to conceal carry on GGC property if you have a CHL, but do not mix your shooting experience and concealed carry. If you draw from concealment it is breaking club rules. Act as you would in a public place. Displaying your firearm in a non-emergency situation would be considered "brandishing".
