SHOTGUN
Greenwood Gun Club Shotgun “Claybusters”

The “Claybusters” shotgun range is located off FM 2004 about 3 miles East of FM 523.

Greenwood Gun Club spent a considerable amount of money the past couple of years to upgrade the shotgun range. We put up new metal buildings on concrete slabs for the 5-stand field. Put a new floor in the lighted skeet field high house and hauled in several loads of dirt and crushed concrete to build up the entry road and parking area. We also traded in some old machines and bought some new ones. The range is in great shape, and we will continue to maintain and upgrade as our budget permits.

We have available a lighted Skeet field, Trap field, 5-stand and on request, Bunker Trap. Field layouts are (1) Bunker Trap, (1) standard Trap, (1) 5-stand, (1) lighted Skeet field and (1) Skeet field with a Trap overlay. The trap fields can be set up for Wobble Trap as well.

Greenwood “Claybusters” hosts several area 4-H and High School FFA Shotgun Teams from all over Brazoria County and has hosted the local 4-H “Whiz-Bang” fund raiser for the past several years.

The range is open every Sunday except Holidays from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm weather permitting.

From March through November, the range is open every Thursday evening from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm (except Holidays). Right now, we have only one lighted skeet field so trap, and 5-stand shut down at dark. December through February we are open on the 1st and 3rd Thursday evening of the month weather permitting (except Holidays).

With advance planning, we can accommodate opening the range for your group on other days of the week too!

Contact Rick Powell shotgun@greenwoodgunclub.org if you would like to schedule a special shoot day for your group or if you have any questions about the Shotgun Range.
